Sora

Angela smiled at him for a moment longer until Tilly cleared her throat loudly. Turning her head she gave Tilly a superior look as Sora relaxed.
"Tilly, this is the young master Sora. He is most certainly aloud in Master Riku's room." Tilly was about to interrupt but Angela's eyes narrowed before her so she bowed her head and didn't speak as her superior continued.
"If Sora-kun wishes to wait here I'm sure the young master wouldn't object."

"But mistress-"
Angela glared at her but the younger maid looked up defiantly. As she turned her face toward Sora he could see the absolute loathing she had toward him.
"Mistress-" she continued as she looked back, "the young master's specific instructions-"

"Do no apply to Sora-kun." She finished the sentence with a pushing movement toward the maid. "Out!"
Tilly bowed her head and backed out of the room in a submissive manor.
"I apologize Sora-kun. She is still new and doesn't yet know her place or her master's intentions." Angela's tone was very apologetic but she seemed a little worried by Tilly's words.
Sora walked toward her and touched her arm-he never liked the hierarchy of the household and refused to let the maids treat him as a 'master' or 'lord' which was the reason why Angela called him by his name, though always with a proper suffix. He looked at her with a beseeching stare. She looked back with a small smile and worry still.

"What's wrong Angela?" Her face was driving him crazy. Could her discipline of the staff be out of line? He wasn't sure who she answered to.

"Master Riku." Her small smile disappeared as she watched Sora's face.
Blinking in surprise he dropped his hand.

"What's wrong with Riku?" Not sure he was ready to find out he stepped back.

"Master Riku has been most distant lately."

"Distant?" Sora imagined Riku being more distant with the staff then he already was. Was it possible for him to come off as colder than usual with people when he already carried around such an abrasive personality? Then he thought about his disappearance from school.
Though Sora was used to Riku's reactions he couldn't handle this type of distance. Wasn't that why he came over? To yell, to accuse, but also to see him? The idea of being in the same room again made Sora's resentment vanish. The misdirected anger that he carried into the house disappeared as he thought about how much he wanted answers.
Angela's turning toward the door was what brought Sora back to the hear and now. She closed it after a quick look down the hall.
Sora watched her as her shoulders-which were tight and pushed forward-relaxed immediately, and she looked more like the old motherly woman who had smuggled cookies out of the kitchen for him and Riku that summer Riku's father had put strict diet orders for the boys.

"Sora-kun" She stepped into the middle of the bedroom, "forgive my forwardness but have you and the master had a falling out?"
Sora's face lit up like a hundred watt bulb as he thought about his encounter in the bathroom. Angela's small smile returned as she watched him and for some reason he got the feeling she knew what he was imagining.
"Sora-kun?" She tried to sound encouraging.

There was NO way he could talk about this with the woman he'd thought of as a mother for most of his life.
As if she was looking into his thoughts again she put up her hands in defeat, "you don't have to talk to me about it if you don't want to. I have already been able to guess what it might be that you two are going through. From the way Riku's been acting-" she shrugged. "I just felt like it might be something really important and I'm worried about you too."

With his blush slowly fading Sora tried to focus on her words because he couldn't imagine the bathroom without imagining the beach. Actually he was trying so hard not to think and listen he almost didn't hear her but her statement didn't make sense. Why would she want to know about him if she was worried about him too? He wasn't sure he should be asking any questions because he didn't know what kind of answer he was looking for but her face was serious, and in the end his curiosity won.

"What do you mean? Why would you be worried about me?"

Her eyes radiated that loving look again as she watched him.
"I've always watched over you on your visits, haven't I?" Her tone implied more than her words but she wasn't wrong. Sora often imagined her only duty on the estate was to chaperon Riku.
So he nodded his head.
"I have known for quite some time that Master Riku is not an easily approachable person." She glanced to a photo on Riku's bookshelf-a school photo-which depicted him in a calm sitting position, without a hint of a smile. "He likes his privacy and because of this he can come off as very indifferent, or cold toward others. This year is the first time he's had such a big group of friends to be around but of all those friendships I've never seen the young master so relaxed as he is around you." She turned her eyes toward another shelf as she spoke and in a mechanical fashion Sora followed her gaze.
She was no longer looking at the photos from Riku's picture day but a smaller frame that held a photo from a day at the beach that same year. It was a an unplanned moment when Sora turned toward Riku with a big smile on his face. Kairi had captured the second by accident. A relaxed Riku stood in this frame with a look of awe in the form of a smile on his face. Probably because when Sora had turned toward him he had ice cream on his nose.
Sora's blush returned slightly as he thought about that moment also being on the beach. Could this Riku be the true Riku behind all the walls and masks of emotion?

Angela was quite for so long Sora looked away from the photo.
Her warm look became much more radiant.

"It's a maid's duty to know the her Master's habits but it's a friend's duty to protect them and support them in their efforts, and I am most defiantly have aimed to be your friend."

He wasn't sure why but suddenly he couldn't see. Blinking he realized his eyes were filled with tears. Angela's expression of encouragement stayed on her face as she stepped closer. Encircling him in a hug he tried to fight off the feelings threatening to make him bawl. How could this person who was only with them during their time in these four walls see the through to the truth of Riku's feelings when he couldn't?

Sora's hand gripped her arm "Is he ok?"
So is Riku ok?
Angela the bright maid who knows more than most of the house staff when it comes to Riku has finally let Sora know about Riku's secrets but will Tilly just go away quietly or does she value her position too much to be told what to do?

I do not own these characters.
This is a yaoi (guyxguy) don't like, don't read
